Rusel DeMaria — Advisor

Rusel DeMaria made his first connection with video games in 1967, playing Space War at Stanford University. After a decade of playing, be began writing about games and technology, ultimately becoming a senior editor for three game magazines and a columnist in the U.S., Japan and France. In 1990, he founded Prima Publishing’s strategy guide division, running it as creative director for six years, during which time he produced nearly 50 guides. Rusel has also been a consultant and game designer for companies like Sega, Maxis, Oddworld and Acclaim Games and is currently assistant director for David Perry’s Game Consultants, Inc.. He has been a speaker at various industry events and was a primary commentator and consultant for the PBS special, The Videogame Revolution. Notable among his 60+ books on video games are High Score: The Illustrated History of Electronic Games, Reset: Changing the Way We Look at Video Games and the upcoming David Perry on Game Design, co-authored with David Perry.
